Score One For The Good Guy

Right here...right at the top...I have to apologize for not being able to fill in all the details. I have to apologize that some of today's blog might feel cryptic to you, or make you feel left out. That's not my intention at all, but since attorneys are involved, I have to watch what I say in a public forum.

But this is what I went to sleep thinking of, and what I awoke this morning thinking of, so it has to come pouring out of my fingertips...SCORE ONE FOR THE GOOD GUY!

We have 4 dogs. One needed extensive care late last year, changing his life forever and ours along with it. Many owners would have put the dog down rather than go through what we've been through physically and financially with him. That's simply not an option for us...because he had a chance, we had to give it to him. This isn't a news flash to anyone who knows us...our dogs are members of our family and when they need care, they get it. This wouldn't be a blog topic except we believe that what happened to our dog didn't need to happen. It happened 8 months ago, and the results are that he now has a permanent wink on the right side of his face and an extremely medically fragile eye on the left. Ongoing care will continue for life, and ongoing expenses will, too.

The attorney back-and-forth began a couple of months ago. This week, we got the "drop dead" letter from the vets' malpractice insurance carrier. Our attorney was not hopeful that we would be able to get what we need...an expert witness willing to take a stand on our side of the issue.

I made one phone call.

I had one conversation.

I can only say this...score one for the good guy. Billy needed a base hit, and he got at least a double last night.

I wish I could see our attorney's face when she reads the email I sent her. She's a good friend and is truly on our side, plus like any good attorney, she likes to win.

She and I have that in common. I don't intend to lose this one. This one's for Billy.
